Gel Plate Printing Workshop
Location: Pembina Hills Arts Council
Date: October 6th + 7th (Friday 6:30-9pm and Saturday 10am-4pm)
This is a new way of creating mono prints based on an old technology, the hectograph. It involves applying paint to a printing plate made of gel. Texture and depth can be created by applying a variety of tools (stencils, stamps, ribbon, netting to the paint. Paper is then placed on top of the paint and a one-of-a-kind print is pulled. BEWARE: This activity is known to be addictive due to the endless possibilities of unique results!
This 2-part workshop requires no previous art experience and will provide you with the materials and equipment to develop some skills in print-making. Friday even will be an introduction and Saturday will be an oppourtnity to delve more deeply into this method of print making.
