The Pembina Hills Arts Council is excited to announce the theme for our Summer Members Show (July and August 2016): The “Love Our Clock Tower” Challenge!
As part of our regular Summer Member’s Show in July and August, we would like to send out a challenge to our artists as we will be commemorating the building’s 101st anniversary. The “Love Our Clock Tower” Challenge would be part of the regular show, and reflect the building itself or its past as post office, library, or art gallery. We would like to see where you could take this theme and spin it with different media or perspectives. We would also accept written word, like poetry or memories, or even music. So as you work in the next few months, consider doing a piece or pieces for the “Love Our Clock Tower” challenge!
Details and registration information can be found on our website, or by contacting PHAC. *Please note that the Summer Members Show will still accept pieces from artists working on their own projects, and works exhibited are not limited to this special challenge.
We are also inviting submissions to our Pembina Valley Studio Tour Participants Show (September 2016)!
During the 2016 Pembina Valley Studio Tour, the Pembina Hills Arts Council will host an exhibition of artists participating in the tour. If you have registered with the tour, we invite you to submit your name, contact information, proof of registration with the tour, and a short description of your work with two images of what you will display this year.
This exhibition will allow visitors unable to stop at every studio the opportunity to at least get a sampling of regional art, providing increased artist artist exposure for the weekend of the tour, and throughout the month of September. Everyone registered with the Pembina Valley Studio Tour is invited to submit to show in this exhibit, with no additional registration fees!
