Rimon Art Collective

‘Kabbalat Shalom’

March 5 - May 4, 2024

The new exhibition “Kabbalat Shalom” by Rimon Art Collective is up until May 4, 2024

The title is translated at “receiving peace” or “welcoming peace”, encompasses various meanings influenced by intonation, intention, and interpretation.

Rotted in the Hebrew Word 'ka-bel’ for ‘receive, welcome, accept, develop, make’ and ‘sha-lom’ for ‘hello, goodbye, well-being, peace’, the phrase illustrates the intricate nature of language.

Language serves as a vessel for expression and connection, constantly evoking to mirror our evolving world. Yet, it also holds the histories and futures of cultures, often misunderstood or overlooked in translation.

As Jewish artists, our work serves as a bridge between cultures, translating our experiences, emotions, and identities into visual and conceptual languages. In a world where misunderstanding can lead to isolation and fear, art becomes our lifeline, enabling us to express our truths and foster understanding.

Through this exhibition, Rimon Art Collective celebrates unity and community, standing together to share our stories and reclaim our narratives. This gathering embodies our collective “Kabbalat Shalom” a testament to the power of art in building understanding and connection.

Who are Rimon Art Collective?

Much like our namesake, Rimon, we each contain multitudes. As a group of young Jewish artists, we have come together for both creativity and comfort as a supportive family seeking refuge in the transformative powers of art and community. As first to third generation immigrants, our diverse backgrounds, stories, and experiences converge in a tapestry of expression, proudly reflecting the rich mosaic of our shared heritage and unique identities.
